Sonido Gallo Negro brings Neo Psychadelia in the form of Cumbia to our stage. Sonido Gallo Negro is a large combo from east Mexico City’s Aragon section. They channel both the mystique and mysticism of 1960s Peruvian cumbia while integrating huayno, sonidero, boogaloo, and chicha with electric guitars, Farfisa organ, Theremin, flute, and of course, varied, driving Latin percussion. “Their willingness to compose across genres and experiment with their musical outputmakes the music captivating.
