Selector Sessions with DJ Le Spam brings vinyl DJs and collectors to the airwaves on Miami’s community radio station WDNA 88.9FM. Recorded live to analog tape every Saturday afternoon at Reserved Hifi in Miami’s Little River neighborhood, this series was created as a platform for DJs to show off their most special records outside of the typical Miami nightclub environment. Every week the show will highlight one Miami vinyl curator alongside a set by host DJ Le Spam.

Each session will open with selections from DJ Le Spam’s vast, personal collection of Latin, Funk, Miami-bass, Haitian, Brazilian, and of course, Jazz. Featured guests will include Mr Brown, Lula Rios, Ack Daddy, Djinji Brown, RicoSon, and other top Miami collectors and DJs.

Miami based Andrew Yeomaeson (aka DJ Le Spam), founder of the iconic Spam Allstars band, is known for his eclectic vinyl collection. Born in Montreal, and raised in London and Bogota, he was exposed to a variety of music and cultures from an early age. He began digging for records as he toured the world while the guitar player for Capitol recording artist Nil Lara and continued adding to the collection when he formed and toured extensively with his own band. He specializes in hard-to-find music and has been given access to rare archives from record labels in the US and Caribbean.

“DJ Le Spam embodies the spirit of musical discovery that has long defined Miami’s creative culture,” says Gene De Souza, WDNA General Manager. “With renewed interest in vinyl and the stories behind the records, Selector Sessions with DJ Le Spam creates a space for listeners to experience remarkable music, personal collections, and the deep knowledge shared by DJ Le Spam and other collectors and DJs throughout our community.”
