New World Symphony invites you to drop into your heart space and actively participate in an innovative, immersive evening of sacred sounds. Devotion Meets the Symphony unites Western classical music with the ecstatic, participatory tradition of kirtan—an ancient call-and-response artform rooted in India. NWS Viola Fellow Srivishnu Ramankutty is joined by renowned artists including kirtan leader Visvambhar Sheth, Vrinda Sheth and composer Narotam Horn for this deeply resonant, cross-cultural performance that features works by Maurice Ravel, Reena Esmail and more—promising a communal, meditative evening of transcendence through mind, body, and sound. Devotion Meets the Symphony is a pay what you wish performance. Every ticket you buy supports NWS, where the future of orchestral music is envisioned, cultivated and shared. Suggested price: $10.
