MOCA: Block Party on the Plaza

Cut in iron as a tribute to Shango, Joan Jiménez Entes’s Art on the Plaza work, Bailando Nuestros Problemas transforms memory into sculptural altars, honoring the joy, resilience, and shared cultural life of Black and Brown communities across Latin America. To celebrate Bailando Nuestros Problemas, internationally recognized artist, educator, and cultural manager Andres Arevalo will bring to MOCA “A Living Jarana Experience,” where the plaza comes alive with Afro-Peruvian music, live guitar, cajón, and traditional dances like Marinera and Festejo. Expect a vibrant mix of Peruvian culture, dance, and community energy. Come ready to move, connect, and celebrate together.
